The Border Collie is our first love - our house will never be without one!!
Our first Collie was a tempremental old boy called 'Puppy' who taught us much about behavioural issues!! He was joined by 'Sophie' from Wood Green Animal Shelter and together these two started us off in obedience competitions. 'Trio' came along soon after from Border Collie Rescue. Trio and Sophie were often placed at Open obedience shows and Trio won a 1st in Beginners in 1995 with Carol at Lowestoft Open Obedience Show.

Border Collies are a wonderful breed to be owned by. In turn they need a dedicated owner who is prepared to challenge their incredibly intelligent brain on a daily basis. There are so many activities that BC's enjoy
Obedience
Agility
Flyball
Heelwork to Music/Freestyle
K9 Multisports
Working Trails
and of course Sheepdog work.
Training is essential for the BC so you should enrole in a good training class as soon as you can. In addition the socialisation for a pup is invaluable.

Border Collies have a few health issues which with responsible breeding are being eradicated. Ask to see health test paperwork from any parents before purchasing a puppy. There are DNA tests for CEA, CL & TNS as well as eye tests and hip scores.
